Overview

In October 2009, this vessel was caught flying the flag of Mauritius, whilst registered in Indonesia, in the EU waters of La Reunion and was fishing without a license. A letter was sent to Indonesian authorities, to which no reply was received, followed by a request for inclusion in the IUU List. Indonesia indicated that during fishing operations, the vessel had experienced a breakdown of engine and GPS, and that the vessel had subsequently drifted into the waters of La Reunion, where it was arrested. The vessel had authorisation to fish for tuna in the Indian Ocean between July 2009 and January 2011. This vessel paid a €75,000 fine to French authorities and was allowed to leave La Reunion waters. This vessel was included in the IOTC IUU list on 5 March 2010. Indonesian authorities detained this vessel in Bali and permanently revoked its fishing licence in December 2010. Vessel changed ownership in 2011 and was subsequently delisted on 22 March 2011.
