Overview

Vessel was one of nine vessels seeking repairs in Phuket port, Thailand, whilst claiming a Bolivian flag. It was confirmed that the vessels were not registered under the Bolivian flag, making them stateless. Due to this vessel’s stateless status and evidence of recent tuna longline fishing found onboard, this vessels activity is deemed to be IUU. Seven of the vessels were arrested by Thai authorities but this vessel absconded from port in October 2016. The false registration document and radio license indicate potential ownership interests in Chinese Taipei. An INTERPOL Purple notice was released for this vessel on 23 October 2016. Vessel was included in the IOTC IUU list in May 2017.
