This vessel was originally flagged and owned in Russia, operating under the name OKHOTINO. Iceland reported vessel for illegally fishing Redfish in Irminger Sea. Vessel had periods registered to Cyprus then Belize 2002-2003 followed by 5 months of Russia registry and eventual Dominica registry in October 2003. Vessel was added to the NEAFC IUU list 18 April 2004, blacklisted by the EU, and reported to the NEAFC in 2005 by Iceland for illegally fishing Redfish in the Irminger Sea. Sources indicate this vessel is part of the “Rostock Pirates”, a fleet of illegal fishing vessels operating out of ports in Europe including Rostock in Germany. This vessel reflagged to Georgia in 2016 and renamed to ROSITA. Vessel was added to NAFO and SEAFO lists in 2007 and delisted by all RFMOs due to scrapping on 13 November 2009.
